Concrete Tools and Equipment
There are several different types of concrete tools and equipment. Choosing the correct concrete tool for your specific application can be difficult. As there’s a large number of manufacturers of such tools, and products, we broke down the different types into several types:
Rammers deliver a high impact force (high amplitude) making them an excellent tool for cohesive and semi-cohesive soils. Frequency range is 500 to 750 blows a minute. Rammers cover three types of compaction: impact, vibration, and kneading. Diesel rammers are perfect for heavy duty work or used where gas powered tools is restricted on the job site.
Vibratory Plate Compactors are low amplitude and high frequency, designed to compact granular soils and asphalt. The heavier the plate, the more compaction force it generates.
Vibratory Rollers are available in several categories: walk-behind and ride-on, which are then broken down to smooth drum, padded drum, and rubber-tired models.
Concrete Mixers and Mortar/Plaster Mixers
Vibratory Screeds and Vibratory Truss Screeds are an effective tool that can be used during the concrete strike off operation.
Walk Behind Power Trowels
Hydraulic Concrete Breakers
are a far more efficient tool than pneumatic models, and are a fraction of the cost.
Concrete Vibrators
Concrete is the combination of water, cement, small aggregates and large aggregates. When mixed together, curing occurs, where the cement paste acts as a glue binding all the surrounding aggregates. Vibration consolidates concrete by moving the concrete particles, and then by removing entrapped air.
Concrete Saws
Gas Concrete Cut-off Saws are Powerful & portable, there’s a large selection of cut-off saws, ring saws, & concrete chain saws. Makita, Wacker, and Husqvarna are the most popular brands.
Electric, Air, and Hydraulic Cut-Off Saws, Electric, hydraulic, and air powered models are also available.
